Church of Sts. Peter and Paul

Located at the foot of Tsarevets Hill in Veliko Tarnovo, the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul is one of the most valuable medieval temples in Bulgaria. Built in the 13th century during the Second Bulgarian Empire, it impresses with its architecture and unique frescoes from various periods. The temple was an important spiritual center, and prominent Bulgarian patriarchs served in it. Today the church preserves exceptionally valuable examples of medieval painting and is a must-see stop for lovers of the history and cultural heritage of the ancient capital.
