House with the Monkey

The House with the Monkey is one of the iconic buildings in Veliko Tarnovo, designed by the famous master Kolyo Ficheto in 1849. Its name comes from the small stone figure of a monkey woven into the facade – a curious and memorable detail that gives character to the building. Combining Revival-era architecture, elegant lines and functionality, the house impresses with its symmetry and elegance. Today it remains a symbol of the creative scope of Bulgarian masters and an integral part of the architectural heritage of the ancient capital.
